Maintaining your jute ropes is an essential step in shibari to ensure they are safe, comfortable on the skin, and handle smoothly.

Oils — penetrate into your ropes, conditioning and nourishing them so they feel more supple and last longer.

Waxes — lock in moisture, smooth the surface, and prevent shedding.

To maintain your ropes, we recommend putting some of our rope lube oil on a microfibre cloth and running this down your ropes, squeezing gently so the oil spreads evenly along the length.. Then, apply a small amount of our rope goo to the surface. You can optionally polish your ropes using either your hands or a clean microfibre cloth; the friction creates heat that melts the goo into the surface, giving your ropes a beautiful, smooth sheen.
